Sue Coe

Associate

Sue has developed substantial experience in global development and humanitarian action over 35 years, with a strong focus on social inclusion. Sue has worked with a wide range of leading organisations in the sector (including the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the Ford Foundation and many large- and medium-sized international NGOs), equipping their staff, building their evidence base and strengthening delivery of their priorities by enabling and helping them apply a social inclusion lens.

Sue has a strong track record of successful training, programme assessment, design, research and  monitoring and evaluation; she also has a proven track record in building organisational capacity around social inclusion. A speciality is helping mainstream organisations start their inclusion journeys; Sue aims to achieve bespoke organisational solutions rather than imposing “blueprint” approaches that may not yield success. Sue has designed training courses on social inclusion for several organisations (she co-wrote Travelling Together: How to include disabled people on the main road of development), and delivered training directly to international NGO staff worldwide for more than 25 years.

Sue is experienced in UK Deaf sector support. She has delivered project management, training and monitoring/evaluation assignments for a range of UK Deaf sector organisations including the British Deaf Association, Deafax, RNID and Zebra Access.  She is qualified in BSL to Level 2 standard.

Experienced in a range of technical sectors including livelihoods, WASH, education, health and humanitarian interventions, Sue has successfully delivered 130 consultancy assignments for more than 45 organisations since 2011.
