Values

Rights-based

We are committed to the empowerment of people who have had their rights denied. We are also committed to increasing the ability and accountability of individuals and institutions expected to respect and protect rights. We are committed to providing greater opportunities for people to shape and inform decisions that impact their rights; this involves increasing the ability of those with responsibility for fulfilling rights to adopt an inclusive approach that routinely integrates rights into policymaking, decision making and day to day operations.

Integrity

We are proud of our work and contributions to the development sector. Integrity, transparency and trust lay at the heart of our work. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethical conduct. We promote and pursue open dialogue in all of our partnerships, contract management and organisational practices. We place considerable importance on our duty of care towards all partners and participants; we are committed to working collaboratively with all clients and partners including by ensuring mutual accountability.

Participative

We seek to bring forward and amplify the voices of people currently marginalised. Underpinning our work is a commitment to working collaboratively through relationships based on mutual respect. We strive to build equitable partnerships that reflect the diverse voices and contributions of all stakeholders, especially the intended beneficiaries. We also work to challenge unfair power relations, even when this requires us to work in difficult contexts and/ or ask hard questions.

Practical

We are passionate about delivering final products tailored to the need and capacity of the target audience. We want to provide work that is understandable and useful to clients and the broader sector. We are committed to innovation, to expanding the evidence-base and most importantly to expanding and strengthening the practical application of inclusive development.
