Delivering positive and lasting change

Our work

Impel works to build inclusive and more equitable societies in which all people are valued and have the power to make choices about their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.

We are committed to working in support of a wide range of marginalised persons whether that’s on the basis of disability, gender and sexual identity, ethnicity, sexuality or other factors. We have particular experience in working at the intersection between girl’s and women’s rights and disability; as well as older age and disability with emerging work also with LGBT+ rights and disability.

We apply a social inclusion lens across our work, undertaking analysis and research to understand institutional, attitudinal and environmental barriers to inclusion and participation. We are committed to addressing these barriers and to strengthening the capacity of individuals and organisations to tackle inequality and exclusion.

We seek to expand knowledge and practical resources to help strengthen social inclusion. We are committed to learning and to adding value to global development; integral to our work is a commitment to a rights-based approach.
