Evidencing the use of the Humanitarian Inclusion Standards

The Humanitarian Inclusion Standards for Older People and People with Disabilities were first published in 2018 by the Age and Disability Consortium as part of the ADCAP programme. The Humanitarian Inclusion Standards are one of eight standards that form the Humanitarian Standards Partnership. Impel worked with HelpAge International and CBM Global to examine how the Humanitarian Inclusion Standards align and integrate within the broader humanitarian architecture, and assessed their ongoing relevance, utilisation, and the challenges affecting uptake. The study also explored whether a formal revision of the standards is required or whether alternative actions would more effectively strengthen their use and impact across the sector.
